For those of you who are across the country and want to be among the first to see the wee one, Tufts has an online Nursery! Here's a preview of what you'll be able to see when our little bundle arrives.

Pregnancy Part 2: Intrroducing Dr. Thieu.

For the last few months I have been seeing Dr. Sullivan at Tufts. Sadly, (for us) she is moving her practice to an other hospital south of Boston. She is making this change after 20 years with Tufts to be closer to home and to her own children. We wish her the best! And have promised to send along a birth announcement when this littlest Lucas comes along.

For the next 4 months, I will be meeting with Dr. Thieu, who comes highly recommended. She is young and high spirited and should be a wonderful Doctor to work with over the final trimester of my pregnancy. When I toured the hospital last week, she was in the Labor and Delivery unit and had just delivered a healthy little girl! Here's a bit of info about her:

Hong-Thao Thieu, MD

Obstetrician and Gynecologist

Clinical Specialties:

Adolescent obstetrics, colposcopy, family planning

Board Certification:

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Education:

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, 2001

Language(s):

And the winner is......

if we have a little girl her name will be

Honor Daigh Lucas

Honor - was Thomas' maternal Grandmother. (who was actually baptized Hanna Bridget McGrillan, but always went by "Honor." We believe the name Hanna was only listed on her baptisim record, all other legal documents and registers have been recorded as Honor.

Daigh - We found in a baby book. The name is similar to Courtney's Aunt & Godmother, "Deidre" and means flame or fire, according to "O Baby" the Irish baby name book. Saint Daigh was also a sixth century saint known for skillful craftsmanship.

Lucas - That one comes with the baby!

and if we have a little boy, his name will be

Killian Thomas Lucas
Killian - Is derived from the gaelic word for church. Also associated with a number of Irish Saints.

Thomas - In honor of the baby's wonderful father and BOTH grandfathers!

Lucas - In case any one is wondering what the meaning of the name Lucas is, it is bringer of light.

To those of you that LOVE the names, just wait till you see the baby!

Big Mamma

Here's an updated photo of me and the ever expanding BUMP! I think all of the extra kicking that's going on in there must be making my tummy grow so fast. It's the extra leg room.
